In this award winning SAP 2012 Innojam video, Capgemini Australia's Peter Chapman suggests a scenario called 'Detective HANA'. The in-memory analytics capabilities of SAP HANA are used to detect possible crime suspects based on their cell phone records. It uses simulated data based on New South Wales government's crime statistics for the past 15 years and publicly available location information based on cell tower records, to populate data and analysed by SAP HANA. Result: a highly successful solution demonstrating how possible crime suspects could be identified leading to higher percentages of crime resolved and significant improvements in efficiency.
